  • Portrait of a youth

The individual's poignant expression, seen in the head position, hairstyle, large sunken eyes gazing sideways and down and parted lips, suggest the influence of Skopas, while the gentle modelling demonstrate influences from Alexandrian tradition. The portrait, part of a private iconic sculpture, is inspired by iconography typical of Alexander of Macedon.
