The "Archimedean spiral" is a curve obtained via the composition of two movements: the uniform rotation of a circle around a fixed centre and the uniform translation of a point starting from the same centre.

The model makes it possible to trace a spiral moving the tracer evenly from the centre to the circumference. The speed of the two movements can be altered to produce a different number of spirals.
