Earthenware plaque with relief carving, “Campana” type

Late 1st century B.C. - early 1st century A.D.
Florence, Museo Archeologico Nazionale
Inv. 88925

Called "Campana" after the name of the 19th-century collector who had a large collection of these plaques, this one depicts two satyrs intent on harvesting grapes. At their feet are baskets overflowing with grapes picked from flourishing grapevines, resembling the Greek type grown as a low shrub.
