In 1945 the company found itself in a dramatic situation. The Rifredi plant was in disastrous conditions, the machinery having been either destroyed or moved elsewhere. Reconstruction started up slowly and, at the decision of the Allies, production had to be limited to non-strategic devices. But the company's revival and conversion were surprisingly rapid, also thanks to the experience it had acquired in many different sectors. The postwar products included electric meters, surveying instruments, scientific and electrical instrumentation, vacuum technology apparatus and cameras. Especially important was the production of weaving looms, contributing to the development of the textile industry in Prato, a city that had been hard hit by the war.
