  • Fragment of an architectural cornice with a lion protome dripstone

The lion protome is produced in a schematic and planned manner. The tufts of the mane are divided into grooved sections that set them off and create a frame around a face that is almost a caricature mask. The limestone is covered by a thick layer of plaster, on the upper section of which a little bright red colour can be seen.
