With the term Magenta Class, J. Beazley was the first to identify a group of shaped vessels with a purplish pink pigment on the surface. Production centres were localized in Apulia, Campania, Sicily and Etruria, in Greece, Egypt and Cyprus, on the shores of the Black Sea and in Asia Minor.
