  • Statuette of Attis

The small figure, with his head covered by the Phrygian cap from which a crown of thick curls emerges framing the face, wears a short tunic with long sleeves and a double ruff and pleats and high laced boots that cover his legs. The figure is Attis, companion to Cybele, the Great Mother goddess of nature, whose cult, with oriental origins, is found in Sicily during the Hellenistic age.
