This is how the so-called sphenopógon type is depicted, a man with the pointed beard. Production of this type in Syracuse is generally aligned with prototypes disseminated in Athens during the 4th century BC by depicting the buffoonish aspect of the personage, which among its characteristics has a grotesque face and a big belly.
