The Prima Esposizione Nazionale di Storia della Scienza [First National Exposition of the History of Science] was financed mainly by the Government (380,000 lire); other funds were contributed by the Chambers of Commerce of Florence (20,000), Turin (1000), Carrara (1000), Arezzo (1000) and Rome (5000); by the City of Florence (170,000 lire), by Piero Ginori Conti (8000) and by small donations from private individuals, for a total of 617,716 lire as initial budget. The accounting records compiled at the closure of the Exposition show proceeds of 970,780.05 lire and expenses of 920,425.50 lire, with profits amounting to 50,354.55 lire.
