Curated by Commendatore Evaristo Zambelli under the supervision of Minister Giuriati, the exhibit of the Ministry of Public Works displayed a wealth of documentation on five great projects implemented in Italy over the centuries, and then brought forward by the Fascist regime: hydrographic systems and studies on the course of the Po River; land reclamation in the Val di Chiana, from the mid-fourteenth century; work on the Arno riverbed carried out under the direction of Lorenzo Materassi starting from 1840; land reclamation around Grosseto, starting from 1639; and the work of consolidating the banks of the Adige River.
