The seismological display, occupying Room XIV, was set up by the Osservatorio Ximeniano di Firenze [Ximenian Observatory of Florence]. It included texts, iconographic documentation and different types of seismographs used in the observatories and meteorological stations of Italy and other countries. Alongside the seismological display, the Osservatorio Ximeniano also organized a small section devoted to meteorology and one illustrating the invention of the Barsanti-Matteucci internal combustion engine.
