The main exhibit, that of Florence, situated on the first floor, was curated by Corsini, Garbasso and Pagnini. However, it did not cover all of the vast scientific heritage of Florence which, with its various institutions, some connected to the university, others not, could have displayed much more than the collection in the main hall. Coordinating these displays was a local committee whose members represented the bodies involved: university institutes, state lyceums, the Collegio alle Querce boarding school, the Consorzio Agrario [Agricultural Union] and the Accademia dei Georgofili. As a whole, these displays occupied seven rooms on the basement floor.
