In conjunction with the Exposition, various collateral events were held, addressed to both specialists and the general public. A double cycle of conferences, in spring and in autumn, illustrated Italy's contributions to scientific progress; in summer, two concerts were held by the pianist Marcello Boasso in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. The garden of the Parterre was adorned with lamps and festoons; tables and chairs were placed there, along with a little coffee bar, and loudspeakers for the music were installed. Moreover, for the entire duration of the event, newsreels on Italian industry were screened.
