The participation of Bologna and Emila-Romagna in general was managed by a regional committee headed by Domenico Majocchi whose members included, among others, Salvatore Pincherle, Guido Horn d'Arturo, Quirino Majorana, Mario Betti, Carlo Frati and Ettore Bortolotti. Bologna's display was centered on the history of its University, which was celebrated through portraits, manuscripts, printed texts and instruments. Bearing witness to the scientific fecundity of the University were the memorabilia of Gerolamo Manfredi, Ulisse Aldrovandi, Raffaele Bombelli, Marcello Malpighi, Luigi Ferdinando Marsili, Galvani, Righi and Guglielmo Marconi.
